Ronald Jay Slim Williams, born into a life of poverty and hardship, rose through the ranks of a notorious criminal enterprise known as the Cash Money Brothers CMB. For over a decade, he led the gang, orchestrating drug deals and engaging in violent activities that plagued the streets of Harlem.
However, in August 2004, everything changed. Williams was arrested and faced the prospect of spending the rest of his life behind bars. It was at that moment that a profound transformation began within him. Faced with the consequences of his actions, Williams resolved to turn his life around and leave the criminal underworld behind.
After his release from prison, Williams' journey to redemption was marked by challenges and setbacks. He struggled to find work, rebuild his relationships, and confront the ghosts of his past. Yet, amidst all this adversity, Williams clung to a glimmer of hope.
In 1998, while serving time at the Rikers Island jail complex, Williams met James Prince, a fellow inmate who recognized his potential. Together, they envisioned a new chapter in their lives, one that would revolve around music instead of crime.
Upon his release, Williams and Prince co-founded Cash Money Records, a record label that would go on to launch the careers of iconic artists such as Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj. Through Cash Money, Williams found a way to channel his energy and creativity into something positive and transformative.
